The station is powered by a wireless Vantage Pro 2 Plus weather station. The data is collected every 2.5 seconds and the site is updated every 5 minutes. The Live Weather feature is updated every 10 seconds. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station comprises of an anemometer, rain gauge, 24-hour fan-aspirated radiation shield, UV and solar radiation sensors situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.

This station is located in the Panther Branch Township. While we have a Raleigh, NC address we are actually located in Wake County about 5 miles from Garner, NC and 5 miles from Fuquay, NC.

Panther Branch was settled before the Revolutionary War. There are documented records of a church in the Panther Branch Township as far back as 1756. Currently Panther Branch Township is one of twenty townships within Wake County, North Carolina. At the 2010 census, Panther Branch Township had a population of 24,019, which is a 61.8% increase over 2000. Panther Branch Township, occupying 39.1 square miles (101.3 km2) in southern Wake County, includes small portions of the Town of Garner.
